1. Understand Your Role In Caredeal
WHO ARE YOU IN THE APPLICATION?
As a social worker, you use CareDeal to help your beneficiaries
find home nursing care.
How It Works
- You create a "Patient" type account (even though you are not a patient)
- You can then create care requests for your beneficiaries
- When making a request, you select "Professional" as contact type
- Nurses will contact YOU (you are the contact person)
- You then coordinate with the beneficiary
WHY THIS METHOD?
- The application does not have a specific "Social worker" role
- The "Patient" role allows creating requests
- The "Professional" contact type identifies you as an intermediary
2. Create Your Account
Objective: Create an account to help your beneficiaries.
- Download CareDeal from the App Store or Google Play
- Open the application
- Select "I'm looking for care" or "Patient"
- Note: This is the role that allows creating requests
- Enter your PROFESSIONAL phone number
- Receive and enter the SMS verification code
- Your account is created
TIP:
Use your professional phone number. This is the number nurses
will use to reach you.
3. Create A Request For A Beneficiary
Objective: Create a care request for a person you support.
- Press "+" or "New request"
- Choose the type(s) of care the beneficiary needs:
- Bathing assistance
- Wound care
- Injections
- Bandages
- Insulin therapy
- Infusion therapy
- Indicate how many times per day care is needed
- Enter THE BENEFICIARY'S ADDRESS (not your office)
- This is where care will be provided
- Verify the address is correct on the map
- Enter the information of the person who will receive care:
- First name
- Last name
- Date of birth
- Email (optional)
- Languages spoken
- Select "PROFESSIONAL"
- This option indicates that you are a social intermediary
- Your number will be used as the primary contact
- If the beneficiary has a phone, you can add it
- This allows nurses to contact them directly if needed
- This field is OPTIONAL
- Review all information
- Press "Confirm"
RESULT:
- The request is created with YOU as the contact person
- Nurses will call you on your number
- You then coordinate care with the beneficiary
4. Track Your Requests
Objective: See the status of requests you have created.
Access Your Requests
- On the home screen, you see all requests you have created
- Each request displays its status
STATUSES:
[In progress]
- The request is active
- Nurses can see it and contact you
- Wait for a nurse to call you
[Arranged]
- A nurse has been found
- Care is scheduled
[Completed/Cancelled]
- The request is no longer active
What To Do When A Nurse Contacts You
1. Discuss the beneficiary's needs
2. Agree on the details (schedules, home access, etc.)
3. Connect the beneficiary and nurse if necessary
4. Mark the request as "arranged" in the application
5. Manage Multiple Beneficiaries
Objective: Create and track requests for multiple people.
How It Works
- You can create as many requests as needed
- Each request is independent
- All requests appear in your list
Organization Tip
- Note somewhere which beneficiary corresponds to which request
- The application only keeps the patient's first/last name
For Each New Beneficiary
1. Create a new request
2. Enter the information for THAT specific beneficiary
3. Indicate your number as contact (automatic)
4. Optionally, add the beneficiary's number
EXAMPLE:
- Beneficiary 1: Mary SMITH -> Request #1
- Beneficiary 2: John MARTIN -> Request #2
- Beneficiary 3: Paul DURANT -> Request #3
All these requests are linked to YOUR account, but concern different people.
